The Chapter titled "Socio-economic Alliances in Response to North Kyoto Demographic Change" of OECD-LEED Programme's synthesis report of "Fostering Resillient Economies: Demographic Transition in Labour Markets" is released by OECD-LEED Programme Website

Since FY 2012, LORC has participated in the research project titled " Local Senarios of Demographic Change" by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)'s Local Economies and Employment Development Programme (LEED Programme).  The report as its project outcome has been released with titled "Fostering Resillient Economies: Demographic Transition in Labour Markets" in November, 2013, by OECD-LEED Programme website.  It includeds the chapter titled " Socio-Economic Alliances in Response to North Kyoto Demographic Change(Preliminary Version)," which was written by LORC with reflecting the outcomes of LORC's research activities so far as well as of the international workshop convened jointly by OECD-LEED Programme and LORC on 29th of September, 2012, in Kyoto, with titled "Local Revitalisation Policies for Shrinking and Ageing Society: North Central Kyoto."   This Chapter includes the analysis of recent demographic transition in the Area, the introduction of the efforts named "Kyoto Model" which is established by the practical and problem-solving efforts through public human resources development, mainly through university education as well as reserach activities in order to solve the various problems arising from ageing, depopulation and global environmental change, with targetting Kyoto Prefecture and its Northern Areas.  Furthermore, the Chapter also concludes with the policy implications and policy recommendations reflecting the efforts so far made with this regard.
